DEAN MARTIN
I started my career as a child actor appearing in a weekly TV show on BBC for two years and also featured in several commercials.
I have been a Radio Presenter for almost 20 years; beginning my career working for Bruno Brookes and Keith Chegwin. After that I joined Capital Radio Café for a brief while then moved onto my most recent position at Capital Gold where I worked for 15 years.
During my time at Gold I covered several different shows including breakfast and drive time. For the past 15 years I presented the Evening Request Show, from the show alone I built strong relationships with many of my listeners, with Noel Edmonds & Pete Doherty being some of my regular callers. My shows on Gold mainly focused on music from the 60s,70s and 80s with listeners able to make requests, however I adept to all decades.
As well as presenting the Evening Request Show I also hosted numerous interviews on Gold with reputable stars such as; Michael Bolton, David Essex, Englebert Humperdink, Bill Medley, George Benson, Marty Wilde, Sandie Shaw, Neil Sedaka, Gary Puckett and Diana Ross.
Outside of the Gold studio for the past 10 years I have successfully presented at events such as; the Music Weekenders at Vauxhall Holiday Park and Gold Cruises for Thomson Holidays, all of which have sold out. I have hosted many live events and OB's from Party in the Park, Goodwood festival of speed and also worked with Diana Ross at Blenium Palace.
My latest achievement was planning, organising and hosting a Gold Radio event at Wembley Arena with 8000 of our listeners. This event was the first to bring both Bill Medley ( Righteous Brother) and Gary Puckett to perform in the UK.
Another of my achievements was being selected to be openings host on an evening with Sylvester Stallone held at the London Palladium, also during May 2014 brought over Ricci Martin ( crooner Dean Martin's son) for a mini tour and sang with him during the tour.
